Snappr's Photo Analyzer uses the latest research, combined with image recognition and machine learning technologies, to determine how well your photo will perform.
This analyzer is backed up by data. Lots of data. The Snappr team has analyzed thousands of photos and people's impressions of them, and we continue to strengthen our algorithms with more datapoints every day. We also make use of some of the best existing research that was out there before we started. This includes a study of 60,000 ratings of 800 profile photos by PhotoFeeler, where they looked at people's impressions of competance, likability and influence. It also infludes a study from the University of York where a neural network was used to analyse detailed facial attributes against subjective ratings of approachability, youthful-attractiveness and dominance for 1,000 photos (Vernon et al., 2014). We have limited the scope of our analyzer to attributes that people have the ability to change.
